Online Remote Update (ORU) enables the capability of bringing all the eligible cars to the last available version. This will improve stability, responsiveness and bring new features to customer vehicles without the need of visiting a workshop.

When available, the vehicle starts to download the update automatically (no customer interaction needed)*.

Then, a pop-up appears to notify the customer a new update is available. 

After turning off the car, the Goodbye screen will show the option ‘Update available’. If selected, the customer is asked if he wants to start the installation process. Then, the customer has to get out of the car and lock doors without waiting for it to finish .

The vehicle cannot be used until the installation process is finished.

Once the updating process is done, the customer is informed of the status (success / failure).

Repair agility

Once a software improvement is available, it is released and can be installed in all affected vehicles. With ORU, the customer will have the chance to update his car without visiting the workshop, it will depend on the campaign. Both ways will coexist together.

Convenient & Easy

The customer can find the best moment to update the vehicle to the latest available SW. Few and simple interactions are needed during the update. 

Updates on-the-go

These SW improvements will be downloaded in the background and the installation process will take place when the car is switched off. The process won’t affect the customer driving experience.
