CUPRA Lifestyle: Passion is doubled when shared.

Tell us about your passion for music.

When I was 15, I used to visit my local record store all the time. One day, this one guy who worked there gave me a CD-Rom with a music production software in it. After I installed it on my computer, I didn't leave the house for a week. It was the beginning. Now, I tour worldwide.

What is your creative process?

My tracks are always created in the studio, usually very early in the morning. I don't share the sleeping habits of the majority of the other artists, my sleeping pattern is actually closer to someone who works in a bank.

I create my music all by myself. Spending time alone is also very therapeutic and isolation tends is what brings out my creative spirit. Collaboration is a bit harder and unusual to happen in the electronic music scene.

But I do love to collaborate with people who have something completely different to bring. That's why I love working with singers: they have different skills, but we share the same passion. It's fascinating to find people that are also passionate about what they do, that truly listen to themselves and just like to create together.

Do you feel any kind of connection with your audience when you´re doing a gig?

But the whole magic is behind the art of bringing the audience to a point where they are completely open minded and would dance to any song. Otherwise, DJs would have been replaced a long time ago by shuffle playlists. There isn´t a magic button that brings this mood up instantly

Role Models?

I admire people who survived to the test of time. Artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, who has a tremendously versatile catalogue, still sound great fifty years later. Versatile, prolific and timeless musicians tend to be my role models. Everlasting music is the holy grail.
